NEW FAMILY MEMBER

Meg has a new puppy!!! I guess that makes me a "granny".
All I can say is, I hope if I ever have grandchildren, they are better behaved. Her little quilt was whipped up the next morning [could not resist the dog fabric] and you can judge her size when you know that the squares are 4 inch. The problem is she doesn't realise she is tiny and wants to take on the world at full speed, with gay abandon.[ thinks she can pull the plug from the power socket]. The nights are interesting...

I feel that I should perhaps get up and give her a night feed. I was never good at controlled crying! I guess she will learn as she is enrolled at a wonderful obedience school called "Erin says SIT happens". What a great name. All I can say is just as well she is sooo cute and has the whole family besotted. Her aunties think she is pretty wonderful...until she bites their toes.

"mummy/daughter" night

Meg (my eldest daughter) and I had a "mummy/daughter" night and saw the Phantom of the Opera. We were both concerned that our wonderful  memories  of seeing it some 15 years ago may have been hard to equal but it lived up to all our expectations. When Jenny bought in her "Georgetown Circle" quilt I was instantly reminded of "The Phantom" which is rather unusual, as those of you who know me well would have thought I would think of my beloved "Pies". I bleed black and white.   (for O/S readers, Collingwood are a Melbourne based Aussie Rules Football Team).

Your quilt is a show stopper Jenny, even the detail on the back is gorgeous.

3 weeks!

Annette made this Quilt in 3 weeks, hand quilted and all.

Oh how I remember those long hours on night duty. I am surprised you canstay awake long enough during your days off to do anything.

What a week!

Lots of finishing has been taking place and of course that means lots of new beginnings [ not that much gets finished in my sewing studio before I start the next project]. Each Saturday morning seems to bring Monique in with yet another finished project!! This is Aunt Becs 9 patch in the Summer in the City range. Blog_464

A TRUE YATCHIE......

Kate is a sailor of old and when she saw Judy's "Messin' about in boats" quilt she could not resist making it.

It is always nice to share other quilters works.

sale time... been and gone

Last week we had a sale and what a day it was.The girls were flat out the whole time except at lunch. This was the nicer photo taken, thought I shouldn't put the others on the others on or Carol might never help again. Blog_451_2 Meal time on Sale Day....check out my helpers!!!!

Anyone interested in a social stitching weekend?

Amitie

We have a few places available in a social stitching weekend away to be held from  5th-7th October 2007.
It will be held about an hour from the CBD in a conference centre and we have full use of the facilities.
All meals are provided and there are single and twin rooms available.
If you are willing to share a room, or want to come along with a friend, the weekend rate is $280 per person, and if you would prefer a single room, the rate is $315 per person.
This weekend is about stitching, laughing and talking - and bringing along your own projects to churn through a few of the unfinished symphonies!
If you are interested and would like to find out more information, please email amitie@amitie (dot) com (dot) au

Lazy Cheryl.....

......just another example of how little  gets done in Tuesdays classes.

If the girls aren't having a glass of bubbly, they are just lazing around on their newly made quilts.
