Gees Bend

Kerry has made two quilts in the "Gees Bend" style. I was fortunate to see some of these quilts in the flesh,on one of my trips to the USA. I have some wonderful photos of them ....somewhere. We have a huge box of photos in the garage, along with huge boxes of all sorts of other things gathered over the years. It is wonderful now with digital cameras, that everything is loaded onto the computer or disc and is easy to find. I was never very good at keeping up with popping those old photos into albums as Lucy, my youngest daughter will tell you. Her baby photos only went into an album a few years ago, and the sad bit of this story is she put them there.

Sweet Innocence?

Remember the sweet little puppy we brought home to live with us 3 months ago. Look at her now, trying our for a spot on "Better Homes and Gardens". Anyone want her?? Not really, she does bring hours of joy to all of us.

What a Week

It has been my privilege to help my friends with their wedding preparation this past week. Simone chose an outdoor theme and the event was held on the banks of a river near Mansfield. The day was perfect until the rain hit 30 mins before the bride arrived, but not to be deterred the wedding party held back and within the hour it had stopped long enough for us to enjoy the ceremony. Some folk may recognize some of the cushions Trish and I made for the event, and I had a ball doing flowers, table settings and anything I could do to be useful. [ training for my 3 daughters] The wedding party flowers were gorgeous, thanks to Liz and her team at "The Well Manoured Garden" here in Centre Rd. Richard and I were pondering on the drive to Mansfield about where the last 2 decades of our lives have gone. Any one got any ideas....must have been the nostalgic thoughts of our wedding day?

The river was the most fantastic backdrop while we enjoyed our meal. Just a snippet of a wonderful occasion.

My camera has been on holiday!

Sorry it has been so long between posts but my husband took my camera on his trip O/S. You miss not being able to snap all the lovely things that visit us in the store daily. Today Lynette came with her version of "Lantern Lights". It is fabulous and the tiny tiny hand stitches are amazing. My non stitching friend Kathy was here for a visit and could not believe the stitching hadn't been machined. I think the comment to me once was "get a life!"  Kath saves lives for a living. If only she could see what a wonderful life we stitchers have.I think sometimes stitching may save lives also.
