Culinary Delights

Just a few photos of some of the food we encountered.

Japan_011

This is a gorgeous little street market in Kyoto. All the following stalls were in this street.

This knife shop was amazing I think the girls at "Scullerymaid"  my favourite shop in Malvern, would love it also.

We were lucky enough to be taken to a traditional teahouse and served green tea and sweets in this amazing old building. It has been owned by the same family for 120 years.

More tomorrow.

A little break from all things Japan

I've been tagged. Thanks Kellie I may have to run faster next time. It makes you just stop for a second and think about some answers. Some of the topics I may have to stutter a little... like 44 oops!

Four jobs I have had

I havent needed 4 jobs as I have had the 2 best jobs that have filled my working years with the most joy  1.Midwifery ( labour ward is tops ) and  2.working with fabricaholics.

Four movies I have watched over and over

Fried Green Tomatoes, Dirty Dancing, Love Actually, I Am Sam.

Four places I have lived

Melbourne, Sydney, Geelong and Pomborneit East ( I bet no one will have been there!)

Four Shows I watch on TV

Greys Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters Dirty Sexy Money, and any cooking show eg Jamie, Bill, Gordon etc.

Four places I have been

Japan, France, Usa, UK but this week I have been to BENTLEIGH several times!

Four people who email me

Richard Meg Abby and Lucy. Thank heavens for email or I wouldn't know who was going to be home for dinner.

Four things I love to eat

Chocolate, Sushi, Passionfruit Sponge, and anything that someone else has cooked for me.

Four places I 'd rather be

I love being home with my family. ( all four people in it so that is the 4 there.) I love cooking in the kitchen, quilting in the studio or lounge room, sleeping in the recliner but I hate the laundry where I spend most of my time!

Four things I look foward to this year

Spending time with people I am fond of. Helping someone through a tough time. A lot of quilting. Abby and Warwicks wedding ( just a joke to scare my daughters boyfriend)

Block of the Month

"Camelot" is about to begin. We still have a few places left in the Trish colourway .Japan_108

And a few places in the Mitali colourway!

Let us know if you would like to join the program. I will pop some more piccys of Japan on in the next few days.

More Quilts

A few more to whet the appetite.

This is the binding treatment.

The best time ever!

We have arrived home safely having had a great time. The quilts at the show were amazing, the retail show just like all others. I realised how fortunate we are here in Australia to  have such a wide variety of fabrics and products to choose from. I will pop some photos on over the next few days.

My husband felt tall for the first time in his life.

Looking down on the show from the entry level.

Part of the morning tea crowd. Are you getting the picture that there were a lot of ladies attending. This is the stage I went off and did some sight seeing and went again early the next morning to finish looking  at the quilts.

Richard ordered an iced coffee...not what he expected!

Although we did have "The gastronomic tour of Japan", these are not part of that experience. All these goodies are made from felt and fabrics and looked so real and delicious.
