Thanks

Just a quick message to say a big thank you to everyone who has sent messages, flowers and good wishes to my Father in law after his accident. I am pleased to say he has been transfered back to Warnambool which is much closed to home for him. I guess with all that has happened to James over the last few weeks, and attending the dawn service on ANZAC day it makes you appreciate each day a little bit more.I have to say I love Australia and I wish I could remember to take my camera everywhere with me as the spectacle of a young guy at the dawn service dressed in a hoodie, board shorts and a Collingwood footy jumper warmed the cockles of my heart. We are unique.

Sale Days at the shop

Sale

Its a great day to add to your stash, buy backs and battings or those patterns and books you have been eyeing off. We hope to see you.

Its all about the fabric.

Our great friend Jenny has been down from Sydney for a much loved visit and as usual she bought with her a car full of enthusiasm! (Her fabric stash is greater than this store.I know I can say this as I doubt Ron would read this blog.) The beaut thing about Jen is that she really does just love sharing. She made both these while she was in town.

This Irish Chain is made with Kaffe Fasssett fabrics.

She purchased these here one day and was back the next with the top made up. A bit disappointing it wasn't hand quilted as well.

This quilt is made using Design House Quilt pattern "Starpoint Rouge" by Trish Harper. The original is made in red tones but this brave quilter challenged the boundaries.

Living Creatively

Last week was so much fun. A more talented group of ladies I have never had the pleasure of working with. Thanks to Angela and her team for the oportunity. This fun photo is of all the gals in the "tote area". Odds on we will have some more good times together.

The absolute highlight for me in Tokyo was the SUMO. I went along reluctantly and ended up a fan. If you get to see this I think you are very lucky.

Culinary Delights

Just a few photos of some of the food we encountered.

This knife shop was amazing I think the girls at "Scullerymaid"  my favourite shop in Malvern, would love it also.

We were lucky enough to be taken to a traditional teahouse and served green tea and sweets in this amazing old building. It has been owned by the same family for 120 years.

A little break from all things Japan

I've been tagged. Thanks Kellie I may have to run faster next time. It makes you just stop for a second and think about some answers. Some of the topics I may have to stutter a little... like 44 oops!

Four jobs I have had

I havent needed 4 jobs as I have had the 2 best jobs that have filled my working years with the most joy  1.Midwifery ( labour ward is tops ) and  2.working with fabricaholics.

Four movies I have watched over and over

Fried Green Tomatoes, Dirty Dancing, Love Actually, I Am Sam.

Four places I have lived

Melbourne, Sydney, Geelong and Pomborneit East ( I bet no one will have been there!)

Four Shows I watch on TV

Greys Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters Dirty Sexy Money, and any cooking show eg Jamie, Bill, Gordon etc.

Four places I have been

Japan, France, Usa, UK but this week I have been to BENTLEIGH several times!

Four people who email me

Richard Meg Abby and Lucy. Thank heavens for email or I wouldn't know who was going to be home for dinner.

Four things I love to eat

Chocolate, Sushi, Passionfruit Sponge, and anything that someone else has cooked for me.

Four places I 'd rather be

I love being home with my family. ( all four people in it so that is the 4 there.) I love cooking in the kitchen, quilting in the studio or lounge room, sleeping in the recliner but I hate the laundry where I spend most of my time!

Four things I look foward to this year

Spending time with people I am fond of. Helping someone through a tough time. A lot of quilting. Abby and Warwicks wedding ( just a joke to scare my daughters boyfriend)

Block of the Month

"Camelot" is about to begin. We still have a few places left in the Trish colourway .Japan_108

And a few places in the Mitali colourway!

Japan_107
